Towards the end of the run however kittens should be receiving the vast majority of their dietary intake via food that is made specifically for kittens.

Although it s safe to remove the kittens from the mother at 4 8 weeks old i would leave it up to the mommy kitty. Usually the mother weens the kittens completely by 8 or 9 weeks old. A mother cat would normally stop feeding their kittens around 6 8 weeks after giving birth to them the mother cat would stop feeding them and start to push them off because they grow teeth and. Mom will likely appreciate this break by this time anyway.
